How to Play Falling Blocks
A classic puzzle game where you arrange falling pieces to clear lines.
Game Rules
- Tetrominoes (4-block pieces) fall from the top of the board
- Move and rotate pieces to fit them together at the bottom
- Complete a horizontal line to clear it and earn points
- Clear multiple lines at once for bonus points (up to 4 lines)
- Game ends when pieces stack to the top
Controls
- ← →: Move piece left/right
- ↓: Soft drop (faster fall)
- Space: Hard drop (instant fall)
- ↑ / X: Rotate clockwise
- Z: Rotate counter-clockwise
- C: Hold piece
- P / Esc: Pause game
Scoring
- Single line: 100 × level
- Double (2 lines): 300 × level
- Triple (3 lines): 500 × level
- Quad (4 lines): 800 × level
- Soft drop: 1 point per cell
- Hard drop: 2 points per cell
Tips for Success
- Keep the board as flat as possible
- Save space on one side for I-pieces to clear 4 lines
- Use the hold feature to save useful pieces
- Watch the ghost piece to see where blocks will land
- Plan ahead using the next piece preview
