Open Wide, Then Close
One guess buys feedback on four boards at once, so the first two or three turns are for coverage — not for solving anything.
- Play two words that share no letters, like CRANE then MOIST, to test ten letters across every board
- Resist solving a board you can already see — you usually have the guesses to spare, and the others still need clues
- Once every board has something to work from, switch to closing them one at a time
Reading Four Answers at Once
Every guess returns four independent verdicts. The keyboard summarizes them, which is convenient and occasionally misleading.
- Same letter, different colors: A letter can be green on one board and gray on another — the boards hold four different words
- The keyboard shows the best case: A green key means correct on some board, not on all of them
- Gray is the reliable signal: A key only goes gray when the letter is absent from all four words, which makes it genuinely safe to rule out

- How do you play Quordly?
- Type any valid five-letter word and press Enter. That single guess is played against all four boards at the same time, and each board grades it independently with its own colors. Read the four sets of feedback together, then pick a next word that makes progress on more than one board.
- How does the color feedback work?
- Each board shows independent color feedback. A green tile means the letter is correct and in the right position for that specific board. Yellow means the letter exists in that board's word but is in the wrong position. Gray means the letter is not in that board's word.
- Why is the same letter green on one board and gray on another?
- Because the four boards hold four different words. A guess is graded separately against each one, so a letter that is perfect for board one can be absent from board three. That is the core of the game: every guess returns four answers, not one.
- What happens when I solve one of the four words?
- When you correctly guess a word, that board is marked as solved with a green border and stops changing. Your remaining guesses continue to apply to the unsolved boards.
- How does the keyboard show letter feedback?
- The keyboard shows the best status for each letter across all four boards. If a letter is correct on any board, it shows green. If it's present on any board (and not correct on any), it shows yellow. It only shows gray if the letter is absent on all boards.
- Why do I have 9 guesses instead of 6?
- You need to find four words instead of one, so 9 guesses gives you a fair chance at all four. In practice that is four solves for only three extra turns over a single Wordle, which is why information matters more here than in the one-board game.
- What are the best opening words for Quordly?
- Openers matter more here than in Wordle, because one guess buys information on four boards at once. Two disjoint words that share no letters — CRANE then MOIST, or SLATE then POUND — test ten letters across all four boards and usually leave every board with something to work from.
- What is a good strategy for Quordly Unlimited?
- Spend the first two or three guesses on coverage rather than on solving any single board, then switch to closing boards one at a time, starting with whichever has the most clues. Solving a board early is worth more than it looks, because it removes its letters from the noise on every guess that follows.
- What should I do when three boards are solved and I am running low?

- Wordle is one word in six guesses. Quordly is four words in nine, with every guess played against all four boards at once. The letter rules are identical — what changes is that you are managing four sets of constraints in parallel, so guesses that gather broad information beat guesses that chase a single answer.
